JEWELLERY
An in-depth personal narrative into a fragmented cognitive landscape, depicted through informative pieces of jewellery. This project encompasses a creative interpretation of mental illness to in turn generate a new perspective and to raise awareness.
The work stems from daily drawings of my hand, reflective of my emotions and a constructive symbol of self. The concepts of these drawings are intimate, and communicate between maker and viewer. Initial forms evolved into rings, an object commonly associated with the hand and naturally symbolic. The rings act as a narrative, which collectively communicates my mental instability but individually through material and process, they celebrate every triumph.
