A two week project sponsered by local metal dealer Micheal Bloomstein.
The first part of the project was a one day exercise where we were given 10 grams of silver to work with. The objective was to make an object from the silver scrap relative to our chosen keyword / FRAGMENT.
The rest of the project was free for us to use 35 grams of silver as we wished.
I used 23 grams to make my first sterling silver signet ring which initiated a sequence of 34 signet rings.
The second ring I constructed was an experimental piece made from acid eroded steel and a solid piece of sterling silver. This ring was the start of a visual interpretation of mental illness through experimentation of materials.
