JEWELLERY

A self motivated, and driven creative person with a hard working ethos and positive attitude. I am incredibly passionate about jewellery and am seeking the opportunity to further my experience in both technical and commercial aspects of the industry. I am particularly interested in the relationship between material and maker and how jewellery can be used as a vehicle to communicate on either a conceptual or commercial level. I mainly work in silver and have recently been experimenting with steel, I am a very hands on and enthusiastic maker and thrive from working as part of a team or individually.
Technical Skills
Metal: Broad material knowledge including advanced soldering, polishing and silversmithing.
Other Materials: Skills in wood, polymers and ceramics involving inlay, mould making and hand building.
Business Skills
Team Work: Six years experience in team work and customer service roles in which I have developed professional and confident communicational skills.
Digital: Experienced use of Microsoft Office and Mac software, and frequent user of Photoshop and InDesign.
Languages: Conversational German.

LaVerne And Company, Workshop Assistant, Hove - Prepping metal for stock, soldering, polishing and packaging. Learning valuable skills in the running of a business and working in a busy and creative enviroment.

The Minories Gallery, Stockist, Essex – Stock a selection of my silver jewellery including necklaces, rings and bangles. The prices range from £10.00 to £40.00 and are supplied on a sale or return basis.
2014 – 2015
Alexa de Castilho and Alice Eden, Workshop Assistant, Brighton - Assisted with the completion of orders for Christmas including assembling, filing, sanding and polishing. Learnt the fundamental skills of self-employment, stock mark ups, wage, promotion and production.

University of Brighton, Graduate Show Volunteer - Two weeks experience in wall construction, sanding, painting and plinth building. Understanding the importance of delivering a high level of finishing. Role required full commitment throughout the process.

Brighton Dome, Show Assistant - Assisting with the assembly of Sarah Packington’s 'Made in Brighton' exhibit involving visual based tasks such as display, presentation and understanding the ways in which to encourage customers to approach the stand. Workshop assisting included acrylic sanding, dying and polishing.

Received 'Craftsmanship of the Year' at Foundation level for a collection of driftwood and silver rings.
Employment
2016 - Present Makena, Sales Assistant
Full time sales assistant, my role involves opening and closing the shop, responsible for all stock and shop safety. Learnt all the designer details including collections, location, making techniques in a short time to offer the best service to the customer.

Part time team member role, involving all areas of customer service including meet and greet, ticket sales and serving food and drink with responsibilities in age restricted ticket sales regarding films.
2014 University of Brighton Student Ambassador
A formative role that required confidence and leadership skills. This included guiding large groups around the workshop areas and engaging with new potential students.
